THE PROCESS

How we'll work together to create your video

Film Clapboard

THINGS TO KNOW OFF THE BAT...

A Comprehensive Approach

My clients are my number one priority, and my services prove just how committed I am to their success.
The goal is yours, I just help you bring it to life. It could be that your goal is to reach new customers, increase your marketing reach, launch a new product, or simply draw attention to something amazing that you're doing, it's important to define your goal as early as possible.
Knowing how you want your video to be used is also key information that we'll use early on to form a strategy to move forward. For example, TikTok or YouTube shorts have a very different format to Movie Trailers, which again differ from Product Promotional Videos or Dance and Music Videos.
All of these are very much in the realm of possibility, but the process of shooting and editing differs significantly for each type.

INITIAL INTRODUCTION

The Path to Success

So you've got an idea or goal for a video, you might even call it a dream, and ultimately you're entrusting that dream to a person.
This is the part where you meet that person, ask questions, share initial information and ultimately become assured that you're in good hands.
We'll set up a video call over Zoom or Teams, or for more locally based customers, we can meet in person for a coffee or a beer.
There's no pressure, you're not expected to have all the answers, it's just a good opportunity to get to know one another a bit, and get a feel for the project and how we want to proceed.

FULL PRE-PRODUCTION CONSULTATION

Expert Guidance

My services are customized to meet the specific needs of each client. I work collaboratively throughout the entire process and guarantee measurable results.
I'll research you, your product or service, and see how your competitors (as close to your niche as possible) are marketing themselves so that the end result we produce has the best chances of bringing value to you, and achieving the initial goal.
I'll provide you with some examples of existing videos that I feel best represent the vision the you have in mind - we'll create something unique and won't be copying anyone else's work, but it's best to double check that we're on the same page and that your initial brief has been fully understood.

FILMING YOU, BEING YOU

People buy from people they like

Once we've found a mutually agreeable schedule for shoot day, we'll meet at the agreed time and place and being the fun part - filming!

I'll initially spend some time setting up equipment, which usually takes about half an hour. Then we'll look at framing the shots for your scene, making sure we achieve the right levels of light, focus, and composition.

Depending on your brief, we'll look to film you from lower angles to show your dominant status, equal level to show your personability or from a higher angle to emphasize the magnitude of a location or environment.

We can capture different camera movements, shoot time lapses to show your process, or shoot in slow motion to really highlight any extraordinary features.

On average, a filming day takes between 3-5 hours, not including a half hour initial setup, 5-10 minutes of setup per scene change, and 15 minutes "pack away" time.

THE FIRST DRAFT

As close to perfect as possible

After the shoot day, I'll take all the audio and video footage that we've recorded, and start the editing process. As a rough estimate, this usually takes double the amount of time required for filming, but that really varies from project to project.

If you're worried about cost - don't be! You will be quoted for a specific number of editing hours, and I will create the best possible first draft with the amount of editing hours we have agreed upon.

Usually, my clients find that the first draft is pretty much there, and would be happy to use that as the final product, but sometimes there are some revisions that are required.

REVISIONS

Fine Tuning for Perfection

Once you've seen the first draft, you'll have a better idea of what revisions you'd like to make. Perhaps you had a different idea of the font we've used for text overlays, or maybe there's a visual effect you'd like to add to really bring a scene to life.

I'll take these revision notes from you, and implement them into the final video product during a second round of editing.

Again, don't worry about cost, we'll pre set a number of editing hours for the revision editing session (usually an additional hour or two is sufficient) and fine tune, tweak, and perfect the video before sending you the final video production!

Sandy Anna.jpeg

RainyGrinch Studios shot and edited a promotional video for my home business creating various resin accessories, which I started during the first COVID lockdown.

Once I shared the video to my social media platforms, my order values increased by over 400%

The video really helped show my customer base who I am, and the quality of the products I make.
